Elf Tensei Kara no Cheat Kenkokuki

Description (from Baka Manga)
A genius magician, to fight against his fate to die a natural death from old age, grasped at the truth of magic to allow himself to reincarnate with a power he created himself. The cycle of reincarnation is repeated multiple times and in his 31st reincarnation, the magician became a boy named Syril who lives in a village of elves. However, that village is ruled by Humans, and the Elves are treated as livestock.
After becoming 14 years old, Syril, who regained his past knowledge and experience, stands up to help a girl, who is his childhood friend. The story of the creation of an ideal country begins in that one village, a place where all races can coexist.
Elves, Fox-girl, and various other Heroines

  1. Thanks, I do wonder if you felt like dropping this due to how the author writes. Localizing this feels like a nightmare I spend more time just figuring out how to rewrite it into better grammatical sentence structures and localization than just straight translating cause some of his wording is just… awkward…

    ex.
     青臭いことを語る俺を、ルシエはきらきらした目で見ている。
    Direct Trans:
I speak immaturely don’t I, Lucie looks with sparkling eyes.

    My Localized trans:
I know my talk is just purely fantasy, but Lucie looks at me with eyes full of wonder.

I don’t really plan to have a blog so just posting my google drive here for anyone that happens to be going around. c17 in there should be view-able to anyone who wants to read it. Going to be working on 18. BTW Love your work 87… I read your stuff when they come out. If you think my trans is up to your quality it would be nice to re-host them here if not its no big deal I am just out to translate for to read them for myself and I am not guaranteeing anything anyway. I may go back and review some of the translation there are one or two sentences which were kinda a mystery to me.

  4. I am translating 17 for myself(half way through 57% started yesterday). The author writes in such a tedious manner whole paragraphs which can be written in a few sentences…

    1. Yes, it’s a lot of information and extra stuff in the novel. It’s pretty tiring to translate. Thank you for contributing to the translation community!

      1. Anyone particularly keen on hosting it? I am not sure how far id go with it, mostly just interested in getting to the end of the volume at the moment just for myself. I haven’t done extensive proofreading of it and just trying to translate and “edit”(if you can call it that) as I go along with a single maybe a double pass only(lazzzy). Some of the sentences also seem to be not really proofread by the author himself I feel at times. Like those really long explanations which you can just say something like he becomes a ballistics computer and doesn’t miss.

  5. I am translating chapter 17 mostly for myself like 57% through it at the moment(started yesterday). Using some of google translate to quickly read through the romaji and kanji. I studied JP for 6 years back in the day, I am very rusty and also lazy to practice it(except for now) since translation is just not happening on this title just have to do it for myself(desperation what can I say). The author could really just not write whole paragraphs which could be easily explained in like 1 or 2 sentences is my only complaint about it so far.

  6. The translator don’t own anything, so you don’t NEED his “permission” if you want to translate this project, especially an inactive translator. Just my opinion

  7. i don’t know why it is such an issue to translate it when someone else is already doing it. did he buy the rights to translate it? and he is already like almost dropped it. leaving the readers dumbfounded and waiting for who knows when he will be back after his problem. aren’t we the readers to decide that. (you’re doing the best for this novel, 87% i salute you!)
such a waste of good read just for the pride/ego of others who has still no rights on what he is claiming. well correct me if Im wrong here if he has the rights to only him to translate this novel.

  8. In my opinion no one has a right to this WN except the author.
You dropping this is really regrettable. I’ve wanted to read this since months ago but refrained because the progress was too slow and I feared it would have been dropped.

Hope the issue will be resolved and the translation resumes soon.

  9. It’s a shame that you dropped this..
I understand Lygar wanting to do it himself, but with all that’s happening in his life right now… I wish he would have allowed you to keep translating this while he’s busy dealing with his business. He(understandably) hasn’t been active for months already and we don’t know when or if he’s going to come back
Guess I’ll have to drop the series for now =/
maybe if I run into it again in a few months, it will have started up again…..

  10. I just created Epub because i like to read with my Nexus 7 Tablet, here Epub for Elf tensei chapter 00 to 16, i give proper credit and bonus image from the novel.
so it’s close to the “feel” of the novel.

    1. Yea, I agree seriously this needs some proofreading and editing, but since I’m doing this alone, it’s pretty hard to find time. I’ll make it a side project to try and do this slowwwwly. And the quotation marks are my mistake, since I use line by line translation and stupidly thought it would be better to quote single sentence in one conversation. Once again, please bear with me for a while.

  13. sorry if my english is bad
are you got permision to got to translate this from lygar???
i know is not my problem
but to take over translation project is same as stealing or ganked
you know that can be problem in future to you

    thank you for doing it

    1. Yes, I didn’t get permission, and he is welcome to take it back anytime he wants to. I’m just doing this cause it seems like he has some issues in RL and isn’t moving on with the chapters. You are right by the way, I should probably ask him.

      1. Thank you for not being like those “U Donate we Translate” guys… I refuse to read their work because of this.

        Like

      1. Uhhhh it takes time to translate so nothing wrong with donation? Why should they spend their time and effort to translate just so we can read it for FREE are E? Yonot even paying for the novel to support the author you leech. Sure you can read it for freon’t nee, but don’t need to insult those who take out their time to translate, this is why so many translators are dead because of dim wit like you that don’t even know how to appreciate free shit.

        1. Yeah, although we translate because we like the novel and want to share it, I don’t think I’m a saint after all. (As compared to the saintly translators out there). After all, coffee costs money….fufufu

          1. There is nothing wrong with accepting what is offered.
You’re not demanding money. It’s something like energy drink? Well yeah, lol

“for the sake of readers” is surely what I don’t want to say. In real life when a friend ask you for help, it’s implied the favored will be returned someday, in whatever form it might takes.

        2. It always bother me why ‘donations’ are called donations, when you’re putting out chapters after being paid to do so. Why don’t people change the ‘donation button’ to the ‘sponsor button’ since that IS what it is? Actually, isn’t this system the same as a Kickstarter?! xD

(Queue of money => full queue is an extra chapter => being paid to translate in essence)

          Like

          1. I’m not actually putting out chapters after donations. The time and effort to translate a chapter doesn’t just cost a cup of coffee. I’m doing it because I feel appreciated and want to do something for people who bought me a coffee in return.

            1. I wasn’t refering to you in particular (I didn’t even check if u took donations either ^^;)

I just get irritated seeing queues of $$ being slapped with the ‘donation’ label.
